Party at the Nexus Stables! ((Open to everyone!))

Ellie had rushed over from work, and had been delighted to find that Mr. Dobson, Nat, and Jinian had already begun setting up for the party. The old cowboy had already fired up the grill in preparation and the girls had set out bread baskets and salads to start. There were tables with hurricane lamps set up near the house, and some additional ones down by the pond. And with clear skies, it was going to be perfect for stargazing even if you never left the table.

Several of the horses were frolicking in the paddock, and she wondered if any of their guests might like to go riding. She was definitely game, and had decided to try riding Bucky this evening. He was a beautiful Palomino, but also quite mischievous too. She was still getting to know the horses and Mr. Dobson had helped her choose which horses would be best to introduce to their guests.

While she waited for Michael and the others to arrive, she climbed up onto the fence of the paddock and watched the horses play.

Ellie blinks. And then blinks some more. "Um... I didn't think you were! I'm Ellie, I think we've met before? Alice, right?" Smiling, she tries putting the other woman at ease.

*she smiles a little hesitantly at the woman once she's reassured that there won't be any shooting.* Ellie? *pause* Can't remember, sorry. *tries to smile again.* Is Horse... yours?

"Actually they're all Michael's." Smiling again, she's glad the other woman seems to be relaxing a little. "My parents have horses too, but it's difficult to go back to Indiana all the time to ride them."

*head tilt* Can't find portal to Indiana? Go there, get horses, then Horse can have friends. *nods once and smiles.*

"I can, but my parents don't know about the Nexus or portals, and that might freak them out." They'd considered that, but had figured that it would likely cause more problems than solve them.

"There are actually lots of horses here, more than just one! They all get to socialize and play together."

*she thinks about that then suddenly starts laughing. Maybe this El person's not somebody to be afraid of. Myabe, maybe not.* ... Sneak one horse away at a time. Then can have more friends for Horse. *pause* Horse doesn't like people riding on him.

"Horse? Is that the name of your horse?" Ellie is all manner of confused!

*shaking her head* No, Horse lives here. Grumpy old man says he's a wild one, only experienced riders can ride. But don't want to ride him.

"Oh, I think I know which one you're talking about. I haven't ridden him myself, just barely met him! I'm not sure how he got here either."

Doesn't want anybody to ride him. *she glances around before whispering* He doesn't like being caged up either, understand how he feels. So I just talk to him.

"Oh? He can roam the pasture though! But there's always food here for him, and shelter too."

Bet that's why he doesn't want to be ridden, may think riders steal parts!

"Maybe! I'll have to ask Nat or Jinian some time, and see if they might know." She's rather curious herself as to why Horse is the way he is and how he ended up here.
