Community Profile

The Nexus Stables exist in an alcove of the Nexus, accessible through Intra-Nexus Portal 11749, and lead out onto beautiful, wooded pastureland. The stables themselves are very large, with plenty of room for horses and other equine-like animals. It's owned by master_simon, who purchased it as a love-gift to simply_ellie.

The Stables are equipped to handle all species, and their tack rooms contain a variety of saddles and equipment. Some of the stalls contain the Stables' horses; others board horses for denizens of the Nexus. A few of the stalls are even rented by horselike denizens who want to live in a comfortable place surrounded by beings similar to themselves. There's even a stall where a crotchety old gryphon lives, and another with a baby dragon. If it can find its way in from the Nexus, the Stables will find it a stall.

The place's old owner, mean_old_cowboy, has stayed on as a caretaker. He's a grouchy old man, so don't mess up "his" barn.

A variety of barn cats and dogs patrol the Stables to keep out vermin, and are on friendly terms with both the horses and the guests. Periodically, there are litters of kittens and puppies to play with. Two of the stablehands, hiddenstrengths and jinian_star_eye, can talk to the animals, so if you run into communication problems, or want to adopt a puppy or kitten, talk to them about it.

The Rules:

1. This is a fictional setting for RPG purposes. Nothing that happens here is real. All of the characters are fictional. Many come from existing fandoms, but no copyright infringement is intended and nobody's making any kind of profit on this.



2. All pups are welcome. Original characters, Fandom characters, AU versions of characters. There is no application process. As long as you follow these rules, you are welcome here. Mun accounts, however, are not permitted. This is a fictional setting, and that's one of the fastest ways to blur the IC/OOC line.



3. Plotty threads are welcome, as well. Feel free to bring your storylines in, and play out sequences from them here, as long as they follow these rules.



4. You can play any kind of stable-related or equine-related plot here. Feel free to have your pup board a horse here. Feel free to bring in a horse pup. RP taking a trail-ride, or training a horse to race, or mucking out a stall, whatever suits your fancy.



5. If your thread is plot-related and you'd rather not have people outside of the plot involved, please remember to indicate that by using a ((locked to...)) tag, indicating who may join. The default assumption is that any thread is open to any member of the community, unless you specify otherwise.



6. Violence is not welcome here. The Stables are not to be used as a site for battles, violent confrontations, assaults upon other characters, the destruction of property, or above all, the abuse of animals. Officially, the Stables have a powerful anti-violence field installed on them and on the grounds. Characters who try to get around it find themselves in the manure pile.



7. NPCs belong to their creators. If a pup boards an NPC horse here, you may only use that NPC horse as agreed to by that pup's player. This includes borrowing them for a ride, breeding your horse with theirs, or any other situation where you might be defining/playing characteristics of the horse that they might not wish it to have. This goes for all NPC characters, not just horses.



8. Godmoding is not allowed. You cannot attribute words or actions to any pups but your own, unless you've discussed it with the pups' players and gotten their consent first.



9. This is a community open to all ages of players, so please keep harsh language to a minimum, and any possibly-NSFW content to a minimum. Any possibly-NSFW content needs to be behind a cut-tag and contain a warning both in the tag and the post title.



10. Should a thread you're running here veer into explicit adult content, please have it segue into your own journal prior to the explicit material beginning.



11. There is no Nexus LOL originating from the Stables. The food and drink is perfectly safe, and nothing is booby-trapped. The place cannot be used to inflict weirdness upon pups; it's a remarkably tame corner of the Nexus, which is rather the point.



12. IC =/= OOC. If you have OOC problems with another player, and can't play with their characters without it becoming a problem, just don't play with them. The Stables are large. You don't have to encounter anyone you dislike.



13. The mods reserve the right to disallow membership for any user, at any time, should someone come up with problem situations that we haven't covered here. This is our free time and nobody's paying us to deal with drama queens and crap-stirrers, so we're not going to.



14. The mods reserve the right to modify, change, or add to these rules as needed.



15. Remember, this is all in fun, so have fun. If there's a problem you can't resolve on your own, talk to the mods and we'll try to help you. If you just can't have fun with this situation, as our rules stand, that's okay and we wish you luck elsewhere.
